If we go back in time, I would have solved this by running FileMaker Pro advanced on the Mac Mini server I have in a closet and access that via the desktop app or mobile app (there will never be more than 5 clients accessing the app). If anyone is willing to help me out, here… I just want to host my app so that my wife and I can access the file via the mobile app. I am not opposed to spending money to get up to date, but it’s not clear what I need to buy or how much I have to spend. I get a prompt that says my Claris ID is inactive and to talk to an account representative or something. I downloaded Claris Go from the App Store, created an account, and tried to log in. Now, it looks like there isn’t an “advanced” tier, they’ve added filemaker cloud, and there’s both FileMaker Pro and Claris Filemaker or something like that.įilemaker Go 19 doesn’t work with FileMaker Pro or Server 16. To refresh, when I was using this more actively back in the day, you had FileMaker Pro, FileMaker Pro Advanced, and Filemaker Server/Server Advanced. The most up to date desktop app I have is FileMaker Pro 16. ![]() I’ve downloaded Filemaker Go 19 and Claris Go. It looks like FileMaker has gone back to having Claris in the name and that’s part of my confusion, I guess. It seems like the whole business model has gotten a lot more complicated since the last time I seriously developed anything on the platform. My wife recently asked if I’d make her a weight lifting app for tracking progress and I figured Filemaker would be perfect for that sort of app. In the intervening years, I’ve dabbled in FileMaker for occasional consulting gigs and to add functionality to a handful of solutions I made my bones with in the white collar world. I was pretty big into FM Pro back in 2010-2013 when I last had an office job, but I’ve since retired and gone off grid to homestead.
